Yacht Charter in Seychelles
Island Spirit Yacht Charter
Welcome to the Seychelles, welcome to paradise!
The isolated location in the middle of the ocean lends the island group its unique landscape and vegetation. Plants, trees and animals were able to adapt over millennia to the islands’ conditions and climate and created the distinctive tropical flora and fauna of the Seychelles.
90% of the Seychelles is a National Park, ideal for pure eco-tourism. The island group enjoys a tropical climate without cyclones all year round.
Tell people you are going to the Seychelles, and their eyes light up. Pictures of white beaches, a bright blue sea and a hammock between two palm trees are conjured up. The Seychelles deserve that heavenly image of a carefree holiday destination. In the top 10 of nicest beaches in the world, you will find 5 in the Seychelles. And there’s more to it than just sun, sea and sand.

Yacht Charter Season
The year is divided into two main seasons, referred to as the Northwest and Southeast monsoons, with two short inter-monsoon periods.
The Southeast monsoon runs from May to October, and is characterized by dry weather. Strong southeasterly winds, slightly rougher seas, and cloudy intervals with light showers are typical.
Pre-Northwest monsoon is in November. The weather is warm, the wind turns from the southeast to the northwest, and showers are possible. The sea is typically calm during this season.
The Northwest monsoon runs from December to March. It’s warm, with slightly more showers in December and January. The northwesterly wind can bring longer showers, and the seas are calm to moderate.
Pre-Southeast monsoon is in April. It’s warm and there is typically no wind and calm seas. Showers are possible.
The Bat-O-Bleu yacht charter base is located at Eden Island Marina on the island of Mahé, not far from the capital city of Victoria.
You can take a taxi from the airport, or we will pick you up and you’ll be welcomed aboard in no time. Our crew will brief you personally.
The Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) is 10 km to the south of the capital Victoria on the island of Mahé. It has two terminals (for domestic and international flights), a couple of shops, including tax-free shops, banks, exchange offices, a car rental, restaurants and bars.
You will need a valid international passport (valid for at least 6 months upon return) and a return ticket to be allowed in to Seychellois territory.
You need to be able to prove that you have an accommodation booking and sufficient financial means. All travelers to the Seychelles are required to submit Immigration forms. Visit this website prior to arrival and follow the instructions: https://seychelles.govtas.com/
We do our best to equip your yacht with everything you need to operate it safely and enjoy living aboard. Below is an inventory list of items included with your yacht as standard. It is not necessarily an exhaustive list.
So, for instance, your yacht’s galley is equipped with appropriate cooking utensils: pots, pans, serving trays, cheese graters, tea towels – we’ve tried hard to ensure you are not left wanting. We make up your cabins before you arrive with quality clean linens.
Each berth has two sheets, bath towels and fluffy pillows. We also provide everything you need to operate your yacht and to deal with minor problems. Things like a toolbox, spare parts set and sail repair kit. Of course, we’re on call to support you if required, but it’s nice to have the option to deal with the little things yourself.
Bareboat charters do not include the following items:
- Beach towels
- Any food or beverage, IE: no salt, pepper, spices, drinking water, etc. if you book a bareboat charter
- Fishing gear
- Personal toiletries, shampoo, soap, etc.
- Child safety netting (available for rent)
- Cleaning consumables, dish soap, sponges, trash bags, toilet paper
Children’s life jackets
Comfort is key to having a child accept wearing a life jacket, and they don’t work if they don’t wear them. If you’re sailing with a child that cannot swim, we strongly suggest that you invest in a quality, fitted life jacket for them and bring it with you. Bat-O-Bleu does have a selection of buoyancy vests suitable for some children, please book in advance to ensure availability.
Request additional items
If you want to have onboard things not listed here, please let us know when you make your booking. Most things are available in the Seychelles, and we’re happy to search it down and have it onboard when you arrive.

It’s nice to have some toys out there to explore the smaller nooks and crannies on your journey. A kayak can also add a great deal of independence as it provides a means for people to go ashore without needing the tender.
Lonestar comes equipped with all the bells and whistles to enjoy your adventure, and we include a lot of “extras” for those booking a crewed charter on our other yachts. If you’re chartering bareboat style, Bat-O-Bleu can organize additional rental equipment to take your adventure at sea to the next level. Usually, you rent equipment for the entire duration of your charter.
Whether you pay for rental gear when you pay for your charter or plan to pay at the base, book the items you want before arriving to ensure availability.
Snorkel Equipment
Each yacht has a full complement of mask and snorkel sets, and there is a selection of fins one the dock for you to choose from, so there is no snorkeling gear available for rent at the base. We also have a choice of children’s snorkeling gear available at our office.
Kayaks
1- and 2-person kayaks are available to explore the many islands, paddle to the beach, up the streams drift among your tropical surroundings. Kayaks are a great addition to a charter with larger groups or lots of older children; it gives you a chance to escape for some peaceful exploration or a romantic getaway. Kayaks are stowed on deck (not towed), come with paddles and are included in the cost of your crewed charter.
Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP)
Step off your yacht onto the SUP and glide across the water’s surface. Explore coastlines or snorkel from your board around the smaller offshore islands and pinnacles. It’s a great way to experience the anchorages and surroundings while getting a little exercise. SUP rentals come with an adjustable paddle and leash, and are included in the cost of your crewed charter.
Fishing Gear
For fishing enthusiasts, we have rods and reels available for rent. However, if you lost the lure reeling in “the biggest fish ever”, we’ll charge you for the loss. Feel free to bring your lures, and we will provide the rods and reels. Nothing beats cooking your fresh catch onboard while watching the sun set on the horizon. Fishing gear is included in the cost of your crewed charter. Fishing is not permitted in the national marine parks.
Scuba Diving
We do not allow dive gear on the yachts due to the damage caused by dive tanks, with the exception of Lonestar, which is outfitted for dive trips for certified divers only. Talk to your charter coordinator to help organize diving trips with local dive operators. You must carry a PADI or equivalent certification to be able to dive on organized trips.
Wifi Router
Although one of the best parts about sailing is the ability to get away from it all, we understand that some people have responsibilities that require internet connectivity. We offer Wifi router rentals, which include 50 GB of data, for those in need. Crewed charters come with free wifi, which includes the router and 50 GB of data.
Provisioning for your yacht charter on Mahé
There are a number of supermarkets close to Eden Marina, so provisioning is relatively easy. However, your best choice if you choose a bareboat charter is to order online in advance with ISPC: https://ispcyachtsupplies.com, and they’ll deliver your supplies directly to the yacht.

The Seychelles have a tropical climate with temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees Centigrade all year round. Humidity is 80% but you hardly feel it thanks to the refreshing breeze blowing over the islands. The water temperature also fluctuates between 25 and 30 degrees.
The Seychelles is the ideal holiday destination all year round. Short showers keep the islands lush and tropical. If it’s raining on one side, it is dry on the other side of the island.
