A learn-to-sail holiday is a perfect opportunity to earn an International Yacht Training certification that you require to rent a yacht and Skipper it yourself, anywhere in the world. Combining the adventure of exploring Thailands exotic island destinations, its rich Asian culture with a family or group holiday is a hugely rewarding experience. Bonding through learning together, exploring together, and relying on each other, as a Crew, you'll be leaving together with skills and memories that will last a lifetime. Of course, it's not all work and no play, not by any stretch. You're on a yacht in a tropical paradise with family and friends. There's plenty of time to do all those holiday things, snorkelling and exploring tropical reefs bursting with marine life, fine-dine at some of the worlds most exotic resorts or chill to some soft reggae tunes at a beach bar, with an ice-cold beer and the best Phat Thai ever! Of course, there's a lot to learn, and you will need to put in some work each day, but your Instructor is there to teach and guide you and make sure you stay on track to meet the goals you've set.
Depending on the courses you select, the Yacht, the number of people on board, and the charter's duration, there are many variables. We package our learn-to-sail holidays based on our Bareboat Yacht rental rate, then add your Instructor's cost and the cost of specific courses you want to complete. The following is a guide; however, please read on further, then contact us so that we can tailor a package specifically for you.
How to book
Purse the courses below and review then the destination and the yachts available there. With that in mind, send us an email and gives your thoughts and preferences, and we'll take it from there. Your Charter Coordinator will work with you to create a suitable package. Considerations
To ensure your comfort, you need to provide a private cabin for the Instructor, not a salon berth. When planning food and beverage, you will also need to provide for the Instructor.
Mix and match
We offer a combination of the IYT Crew and IYT Bareboat Skipper courses. You have the flexibility to mix up the courses; for example, if one of you has some sailing experience, they may choose to do only the Bareboat Skipper course. At the same time, others in your group who are new to it all, may decide to do the whole 11 day Zero to Hero. Of course, not everyone needs to take a course, but they'll still be welcome to participate.
